Neestrup – Thanks for your support, now let's focus on the league

F.C. Copenhagen fans helped deliver another memorable European night in Parken on Wednesday as they brought the noise during the Lions' 2-0 UEFA Champions League play-off victory over FC Basel.

We're now awaiting UEFA's League Phase draw – and while head coach Jacob Neestrup says the team couldn't have made it to a third Champions League in four seasons without the supporters, he insists it's now time to refocus on the Superliga.

"On behalf of the staff and players, we would like to thank everyone in Parken for the support they gave us on a European evening, where we had to work so hard to qualify for the Champions League. We got all the support we could possibly hope for," says the boss.

“We are once again looking forward to many great evenings in Parken and across Europe, and we are looking forward to sharing that with all F.C. Copenhagen fans.

"We should really be happy about that and look forward to it.

“We also know from experience that our performances on the weekends must be top notch, too, so that we can have the same opportunity next year.

“The most important goal from today and for the rest of the season is to regain the Danish championship in a very competitive Superliga. All players and everyone on the staff are aware of that, and we will see you in Randers on Sunday to continue the journey."

FCK travel to Randers for a 6pm clash on Sunday and our away section is already sold out. We then play Brøndby away from home after the international break (13 September at 3pm). You can watch the Randers match on TV3+ and Viaplay.
