Our club is Copenhagen's club. The city's club. And we're here to help the world's best city get even better.
F.C. Copenhagen was born in Denmark's capital. It is our foundation and home. We strive every single day to do our best for Copenhagen and to be the best representatives of the city - both nationally and in Europe.
But only if we have (F.C.) Copenhageners on board can we succeed in being even more for a diverse, vibrant Capital.
We therefore run a number of projects – and continuously launch new ones – all of which aim to involve the city we call home, and contribute to the development of Copenhagen as the world's best city.
Every year, F.C. Copenhagen and the FCK Fan Club collaborate to organise a club march before the first home game of the season. The club march originated in 2016, when the club organised a march before an away game in Aarhus, in which fans, football players and employees participated.
The purpose of the march was then - and today - to engage the entire city and cultivate our community.
The club march differs from traditional fan marches by being more family-friendly. It is designed to attract a wider audience and create a friendly atmosphere for everyone who wants to participate and celebrate our shared love for the club.
F.C. Copenhagen, the Danish Sports Federation and the Divisionsforeningen (Danish league body) collaborate to hold an annual Veteran Match at Parken Stadium. We allocate a Danish Superliga match to honouring and paying tribute to Danish veterans.
The purpose of Veteran Match is not only to celebrate peoples' service, but also aid in their transition from a military to a civilian career, and to focus on their wellbeing after deployment from active service.
The first edition of the Veteran Match was held in 2020 in collaboration with the Municipality of Copenhagen, F.C. Copenhagen and the Danish Sports Federation. We are happy to see how this initiative has grown and has received support from municipalities, clubs, division associations and Veteran Centres across the country.
During Veteran Matches, we invite around 100 service veterans and their relatives to Parken to watch football. The players wear special match jerseys adorned with the Veteran Match logo. After the game, these shirts are auctioned off and the proceeds go to DIF's efforts to support veterans. In 2023, the auction raised 96,675 DKK.
Other leagues to operate a Veterans Match include the Men's Handball League, the Superisligaen (ice hockey) and football's second tier.
Starting Block is an initiative run under the Danish Sports Federation, which F.C. Copenhagen helped develop and still contributes to.
In 2022, Parken began offering special internship programmes to a number of Ukrainians who were facing challenges finding work in the Danish labour market. The initiative was created in collaboration with the Copenhagen Business House.
The purpose of the internship programme was to give participants an opportunity to build work experience, and to support them in better integrating into Danish society.
The initiative has since developed into part of Startblokken (The Starting Block).
Life can be challenging for around 40,000 young people aged 18 to 29 who are not part of an educational or working environment. These young people form the target group for the Starting Block, an initiative launched by DIF in 2024 as an innovative solution to improve civil society.
Starting Block uses the national infrastructure of professional sports clubs and local associations to strengthen young peoples' wellbeing, motivation, initiatives, skills and opportunities.
F.C. Copenhagen sees it as part of our social responsibility to support the city's citizens, and that is why FCK has actively engaged in the Starting Block.
The Starting Block is therefore based in the offices in Parken in Copenhagen. Here, former FCK player Christian Traoré acts as a bridge builder and contact person for young people who need help with job or educational activation. Our goal is to guide between 70 and 100 young people through the Starting Block each year.
The Starting Block meets young people where they are, and therefore the support is individually adapted in four phases. In addition to job and educational help, young people become part of a weekly sports community. This community is designed to strengthen their wellbeing, motivation and self confidence through participation in sports activities.
The Starting Block is not just an offer of help; it is a platform that aims to give young people the right tools and resources, in a positive and social framework.
F.C. Copenhagen are proud to work alongside telecommunications company 3 and the SMIL Foundation (Smile Foundation) to bring more smiles to Parken Stadium.
Since 2022, the club has worked with partners to bring kids from the SMIL Foundation to a match, so they and their families can enjoy live football.
The SMIL Foundation aims to put a smile on the faces of children who have had a difficult start to life, providing them with unique experiences.
The purpose of our campaign is to support a good cause and help make a difference for children and families who, due to illness, do not have the same opportunities as others to enjoy life. The culmination of the inaugural campaign was the SMIL Day in Parken for F.C. Copenhagen's match against Viborg FF on 16 April 2023. The SMIL children created specially designed match shirts for the players, acted as mascots for the game, and called out the team on Parken's PA system.
Subsequently, some of the children's original shirt designs were exhibited in the FCK Fan Shop and in Parken's lounge areas, where guests could read the story behind the special designs.
The unique match shirts were then auctioned at Lauritz.com, and all proceeds went to the SMIL Foundation. In just one week, the auction raised 478,396 kroner for the SMIL Foundation. We have subsequently made this an annual event!
F.C. Copenhagen and Copenhagen's brand of the Red Cross (Røde Kors Hovedstaden) entered into a cooperation in 2023, with the aim of collaborating on several joint initiatives for the benefit of vulnerable citizens in the capital. The first initiative launched after this agreement was the Christmas party in Parken on Christmas Eve 2023.
Together, FCK and the Red Cross invited citizens who have a small or restricted social network to a cozy get-together and celebration of Christmas with gifts and food. F.C. Copenhagen provided many volunteers, and players and coaches stopped by the event, which became a great success and a new, permanent tradition.
In addition to the Red Cross, our other partners – including Carlsberg, Hørkram and Lavazza – also contribute to the event by donating food, coffee and other necessities. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Red Cross and other partners to make a positive difference in Copenhagen and support those who need it most.
Loneliness is a growing challenge in society, and, as the city's club, we want to do our part to ensure that Copenhageners don't feel alone. The collaboration with the Red Cross gives us the opportunity to reach the right people and help make a difference for those who are socially isolated.
The collaboration with the Red Cross has since been expanded to also include a collection of football clothing and shoes. In this way, we support the Red Cross' work and help them get more football clothing on the shelves in their stores.
Three times a week, F.C. Copenhagen opens the doors to Parken and provides space for Denmark's largest distribution of surplus food. Together with Stop Spild Lokalt, we facilitate the distribution of food on the ground floor of the C Stand.
On Christmas Eve, Christmas food is distributed to more than 5,000 Copenhageners, who, while standing in line in the cold hours, are entertained with live music, Christmas treats and hot drinks.
As one of Copenhagen's largest venues, Parken is a resource that should be utilised for the benefit of the local community, even when there are no football matches, concerts or other events scheduled. The initiative primarily focuses on reducing food waste by distributing surplus products, but also includes electronics and clothing to minimise unnecessary resource consumption.
Opening Parken to Stop Spild Lokalt is an important part of our strategy to being an active contributor to Copenhagen and the city's citizens. We want to be a football stadium and a location that contributes to society and promotes greener solutions.
Our free food distribution is a resource that is open to all citizens, but especially those who face financial challenges. We hope that our support for Stop Spild Lokalt helps raise awareness about food waste and motivates more supermarkets, clothing stores and electronics stores to donate their surplus products for the benefit of society.
Our commitment to Stop Spild Lokalt has already attracted thousands of people to large events, where up to 6,000 people participate to collect surplus products and contribute to a more sustainable future.
At F.C. Copenhagen, we value and support diversity and inclusion in our club and local community. A central element in our efforts to promote inclusion is our collaboration with Pan Idræt, an organisation that promotes inclusion and diversity through sport.
Together with Pan Idræt, we have conducted lectures on inclusion at our partner clubs and internally in our Talent Department.
We believe that inclusion is essential to creating a strong community and a positive experience for everyone at our club and in our local community. Through our partnerships and initiatives, we strive to create a culture where diversity and inclusion are celebrated and valued across all levels of football.
Pan Idræt are also one of the initiators of the Gamechanger project, of which F.C. Copenhagen is a part. The project aims to promote inclusion in sport, including football, regardless of sexuality and gender identity. Through this partnership, Pan Idræt contributes to the formation and development of both FCK and the 23 partner clubs involved in the project.
Workshops have been held for youth players at FCK Talent as well as for the management of clubs such as HIK, KB, Hekla and Hørsholm-Usserød IK since 2022, and this collaboration and commitment continues.
In recent years, we have also been involved in the Pride Cup, an annual football tournament under Copenhagen Pride, which promotes and focuses on diversity and inclusion in sport. With this collaboration, we want to create a space where everyone feels welcome and represented.
F.C. Copenhagen and our partner adidas share a joint commitment to inclusion and diversity in Danish football. In 2023, FCK and adidas donated DKK 50,000 to Pan Idræt – corresponding to the expected profit from the special 'Love Unites' shirt. In addition, adidas also distributed products worth DKK 50,000 to Pan Idræt, so that they can continue their dedicated work to promote inclusion in Danish football and strengthen their sports club.
