Oliver Højer signs FCK Talent contract

Oliver Højer has signed a new contract with FCK Talent that will keep the midfielder on his current trajectory through the F.C. Copenhagen youth ranks.

Højer, son of FCK icon Lars Højer, turns 17 on Wednesday and is one of a number of players in the Talent Department to have been at the Lions for most of his youth career.

"It's a real 'Victor Kristiansen story', because Oliver started at KB Mikro on Pile Allé, and has played here at the club all his life," says FCK development director Sune Smith-Nielsen.

"He has been a great talent who has played ahead of himself with the years above him, and we are happy to continue working with him.

"Oliver is an offensive No.8 who has a unique eye for the game, and he has some extraordinary attacking qualities that we look forward to developing even more in the years to come. He has all the skills to end up in the first team and we have great faith that he will succeed."

Højer played in the last three UEFA Youth League games before the winter break, following a long injury lay-off. He helped the U19s secure top spot in Group A and progress to the last-16 this spring.

And the teenager says he's delighted to pen his new contract.

"It's a big moment for me to be able to sign my first professional contract," says Højer. "And at the same time, it's a big pat on the back, but also the starting point for me to get serious. Now is when the hard work begins if my big goal of playing in Parken one day is to come true.

"I've had FCK in my blood since I was very small. So to be able to follow in my father's footsteps and hopefully play for FCK one day is of course my big dream! But above all, I am looking forward to an exciting spring, where we aim to go far in the Youth League and win the U19 title."

The midfielder made his U19 debut in the UEFA Youth League match away to Sevilla in October 2022 and soon after scored in his first game in the U19 league, in a win away to FC Nordsjælland in October 2022.

Højer has played four U16 games for Denmark.
