F.C. Copenhagen to recruit new sporting director

PARKEN Sport & Entertainment can confirm Sune Smith-Nielsen has left F.C. Copenhagen, with work underway to appoint a new sporting director.

The board of PARKEN Sport & Entertainment has decided to terminate cooperation with sporting director Smith-Nielsen with immediate effect.

“Unfortunately, we have to state that this season we have seen neither necessary progress nor expected results. The season has not met our expectations, and on this basis we have assessed that this was not the right match heading into the future,” says chairman of the board of directors of PARKEN Sport & Entertainment, Henrik Møgelmose.

“We have evaluated the development in detail and can conclude that the challenges are quite serious. This is not compatible with F.C. Copenhagen’s ambitions, and it requires action and change.

“A big thank you to Sune for the impressive work he has done at FCK Talent, and for his contribution as sporting director. In his 17 years at the club, Sune has shown a special dedication to F.C. Copenhagen, and we would like to sincerely thank him for the great commitment he has made to the club.”

PARKEN Sport & Entertainment will immediately begin a recruitment process with a focus on finding a new sporting director for F.C. Copenhagen. In the interim period, F.C. Copenhagen CEO, Jacob Lauesen, will handle all the sporting director’s administrative tasks in collaboration with the rest of the sporting management.

Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen would like to thank Sune and wish him all the best in the future. PARKEN Sport & Entertainment and F.C. Copenhagen have no further comments.
