Bård WIggen

Bård Wiggen returns

Norwegian Bård Wiggen will return to F.C. Copenhagen in January 2018 as assistant coach and replace Johan Lange, who will resume his position as Technical Director. Mikael Antonsson will continue as 2nd assistant coach.

Bård Wiggen, 55, was assistant coach for Ståle Solbakken from 2008-2011 and has now signed a contract until the summer of 2020.

"We've been looking for a new assistant coach since Brian Priske left the club. Bård recently resigned as sports director of Viking in Stavanger, and he wished to return to the training ground,” says manager Ståle Solbakken.

“Therefore the timing was perfect. I've known Bård for many years, and we know each others’ strengths and weaknesses. He is a very skillful coach with a great knowledge of our culture and how we work at FCK."

“Since he left Copenhagen in 2011, he has learned a lot from his positions at FC Cologne, Rosenborg and Molde among others. We are very happy that we can resume over teamwork, and we welcome him back in F.C. Copenhagen.”

Bård Wiggen himself said: "I had a great time in Copenhagen, and I'm really looking forward to returning to the club and to the city."

“I know Ståle and several members of the staff very well, and it will help me to adapt quickly. I've been away from the daily training routines for some time, but I'm very keen to resume the work and do what I can to help FCK get back on track."

“It's the greatest club in Scandinavia with a very exciting squad and a strong setup in the staff. I'm really looking forward to being a part of this.”
