FCK to play Göteborg on Thursday

FC Copenhagen will face IFK Göteborg just after midday on Thursday in the pre-season tournament the Copa del Sol. After victories against Norwegian teams Vålerenga and Aalesund, it is time for Swedish opposition.

The game will kick off at 13:00 CET. For Lions goalkeeper Kim Christensen, the fixture will be a reunion with his old teammates; as Christensen played for the former UEFA Cup winners before he switched to the Danish champions.

The match against IFK Göteborg also marks the end of FCK’s stay in La Manga, with the team returning home to Denmark early on Friday morning. A free weekend awaits the squad before training resumes on Monday, where preparations will be made for Copenhagen’s two remaining warm-up matches – against IF Elfsborg and Rosenborg BK – before facing Chelsea in competitive action later this month.
