Neestrup reacts to AGF defeat

F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup says AGF deserved their 2-0 victory over the Lions on Sunday.

"We lost to a better team on the day," said Neestrup.

"Things could have gone differently at the start, but as the match developed, you can't argue with AGF's victory.

"They are in a better place than us right now, and there is better cohesion in what they are doing, so unfortunately we deserved to lose in a match that was important to us.

"There were too many periods in the match where we didn't have composure on the ball, neither in our combination play nor in the longer game, and we were too poor at putting them under pressure. We also became too open when we lost the ball, so we had too many conversions against us.

"It's of course not fun to look at the table now, but right now we are focusing solely on winning the last Superliga match against Sønderjyske in Parken and on getting to the cup semi-finals."
