Alfred Johansson

Alfred Johansson appointed Rosenborg BK head coach

F.C. Copenhagen's U19 coach Alfred Johansson has been appointed head coach of Norwegian side Rosenborg BK.

Morten Bisgaard will take over as head coach for FCK's U19 team, with Martin Vingaard becoming Player Development Coach. Sune Kim Holmgren will be the new head coach of the U17s.

Johansson has been part of FCK Talent in various positions since 2015, with a stint in AIK in Stockholm too, and has been head coach of the U19 team since 2020.

"Alfred is a really good coach that we have been very happy to have in our talent department at F.C. Copenhagen, so it is deserved that he is now going to Rosenborg," says FCK development director Sune Smith-Nielsen.

"We will miss his coaching ability but we have a strong environment with great replacements. We are also happy and proud on Alfred's behalf, and on our behalf, that he will have the opportunity to try his hand at senior level at a big club like Rosenborg."

For Johansson, switching clubs comes with mixed feelings.

"I have had a fantastic and inspiring time at F.C. Copenhagen, and I have loved being part of the environment and culture we have created at the club," says Johansson.

"It is of course a great opportunity for me to become head coach at a club like Rosenborg, and I couldn't say no to that challenge. I would like to thank the club and all the talented players, coaches and managers I have worked with over the years. I will certainly closely follow how things are going at FCK."

Discussing the future set-up of the U19s and U17s, Smith-Nielsen adds: "We have a very strong setup and many competent coaches in our fold, so we are very confident about this reshuffle. In addition, we will recruit a new Player Development Coach for our U17 team, so we are even stronger overall."

Everyone at FCK would like to wish Alfred all the best at Rosenborg and thank him for his efforts for the club.
