Theo Sander

FCK sign Theo Sander

F.C. Copenhagen have signed Theo Sander from AaB. The 18-year-old goalkeeper joins the Lions with immediate effect on an agreement until the summer of 2028.

Sander got his football upbringing at AaB and made his Superliga debut for the club a year ago, becoming the youngest goalkeeper in the history of the Superliga. Since then, he has made 15 first-team appearances for AaB.

"We have been looking for an addition to our goalkeeping team after parting ways with Kalle Johnsson. With Theo, we have secured a very big talent who has already proved himself at a big club. We are happy that he can see FCK as the right step for him, and we are very much looking forward to having him in Copenhagen and developing him further," says FCK sporting director Peter Christiansen.

For head coach Jacob Neestrup, Sander is an important addition to the squad.

"It is good for us that we now have three skilled goalkeepers in the squad, so we are covered in that position. There is absolutely no doubt that Theo is one of the greatest goalkeeper talents in the country and we see him as a potential top player in the long term. Now he has to settle at the club and in the city, and we look forward to having him on the pitch," says Neestrup.

Sander is part of the Denmark U19 national team and has also played for the U17s.

"I have had a fantastic time at AaB, but it made sense for both parties with a change for me now. I am very much looking forward to becoming part of F.C. Copenhagen. It is a huge club, I will be a part of it and I will work hard to develop and contribute to the team. I know that I will have some extremely talented teammates and people around me, so it's just a matter of getting started," says Sander.

Sander will play in the jersey number 21 this season.

Everyone at FCK would like to welcome Theo to the city and the club.
