We're ready for Parken tonight – Neestrup
Jacob Neestrup says the goal of winning two trophies this summer has not been lost despite the defeat to Brøndby in the Superliga on Sunday.
Tonight F.C. Copenhagen taken on FC Nordsjælland in the Danish Cup semi-final second leg. The Lions, currently top of the Danish Superliga, need to overturn a 3-2 first-leg deficit.
"It was obviously a big disappointment for all of us to lose on Sunday in front of 35,000 fans in Parken. And the defeat has hurt the players, the staff and not least myself," says Neestrup.
"But now we've had a few days to get the disappointment out of our system, and it's about getting ready for Parken once again. We are pushing hard for two trophies and we must remember that we still have the opportunity to make this season a great FCK campaign, despite bumps along the way."
FCK's clash with FC Nordsjælland kicks off at 7:30pm this evening and tickets are still available for the game in Parken. And the semi-final is at the forefront of Neestrup's mind.
"First of all, we will do everything we can to reach the final," he adds. "The second leg in the semi-final is important for us and we thought we put in a good performance in the first leg in Farum, even though we lost 3-2 in the end. And although our starting point is not the best, we are confident.
"We must win this home game against them in front of our own fans - just like we did recently in the Superliga."
