FCK players react to Manchester United defeat

F.C. Copenhagen took Manchester United to extra time before losing 1-0 in their UEFA Europa League quarter-final on Monday night.

And the players admitted after the game that the heat in Germany proved too much as the game wore on.

Rasmus Falk
"I hardly know what to say. It's an empty feeling!

"I'm completely drained of energy and strength and power, but we've delivered a great performance against one of the best teams in the world right now.

"I have a feeling we could have won if we had just had a stroke of luck. I know they had their chances, but we knew Kalle Johnsson was going to have a great match, and he does, and that everyone would play up to their very best, and there are many who did.

"So I'm standing here afterwards with a bit of an empty feeling and it's just about going to bed now."

Jonas Wind
"We can be proud of the achievement! Looking at the whole match, I almost think we were the better side.

"Of course they had chances, it cannot be avoided against a team of their strength, but we gave it a shot.

"Every man worked hard and I also had chances myself. It's a shame that it was just a penalty that they scored."

Jens Stage
"It's hard to go out this way, and with a little luck I think it could have been tipped to our advantage.

"It would have been really great to play a semi-final, but the performance was more than OK today. We matched up with one of the world's best football teams for most of 120 minutes, and you can only be proud of that."
