Paul Mukairu: Watch first interview with FCKTV

New F.C. Copenhagen winger Paul Mukairu says he can't wait to get playing for the clubs after joining from Turkish side Antalyaspor this week.

Mukairu, 22, will now join up with his new teammates and is looking forward to helping the Lions compete both on the domestic front and in Europe.

"I know FCK is a big club with great ambitions," says the new signing. "They always want to play in Europe and as a player I want to grow, improve and develop.

"I feel this is the best place for me to develop myself and improve as a football player. It's a great move for me – I'm happy.

"It's a good step for me to come to a club like this in Copenhagen, where they play in Europe. I have a lot to learn and still need to learn a lot of things in football, and it's a good place for me to improve with those surrounding me."

Nigerian Mukairu has previously enjoyed a loan spell at Belgian side Anderlecht under their head coach Vincent Kompany.

And he revealed to FCKTV the experience of playing in Belgium helped him in his progression.

"It was a great experience at Anderlecht, where I learned a lot from the coach and the people there," he adds.

"They were very nice to me and I learned to always push yourself, to give your best in training and in games, no matter if you're starting or coming off the bench it's always good to push yourself.

"The confidence I got from the coach Vincent Kompany was really amazing. I learned a lot from him and everyone at the club."

FCK are not scheduled to play in Parken until the Superliga resumes on 20 February against OB.

And Mukairu is already looking forward to playing in front of the FCK fans.

"It's an amazing ground, I've seen the stadium and it's amazing," he says.

"I'm really excited but am just taking it one day at a time. Then we'll see! It's amazing to be here – the facilities and everything, I'm really happy to be here."
