When the goalkeepers in F.C. Copenhagen produces save after save, they of course get all the attention from the crowd and media – but a part of the credit should also go to Per Wind, who is working hard with the keepers every day at the training ground and also plays a key role on matchdays, when he is in charge of their special warm up-program.
Even though Per Wind has been goalkeeping coach in F.C. Copenhagen for quite some years, he is often associated with another Danish football club, Frem, for whom he started to play at the age of 11 and advanced to the first team in 1973 at the age of 18, which now and then is a very young age for a goalkeeper. He stayed in Frem for two decades, until he retired after having played 590 league matches for the club. Lars Høgh from OB is the only player to have played more matches for just one club (817 matches).
On top of his 590 matches for Frem, Per Wind also played for several youth national teams and gained two A-internationals for Denmark. After he retired from top level-football, he played with the Danish Old Boys-national team for several years.
Per Wind is not only coaching the goalkeepers, he is also practical coordinator when it comes to squad call-ups, events and player activities. | |||
