William Kvist was born in 1985 in Rønde in Jutland, and began playing football at age 5 in Thorsager Rønde IF. After two years in Jutland, the family moved to Copenhagen – and William started to play for KB. It didn’t take long before William was one of the profiles, and he would later show his talent at several Danish youth national teams.

William Kvist is considered to be a classic all-round footballer, but prefers to play in the central midfield. William doesn’t make football any harder than it is, but plays the ball a simple as possible – and as he has gained some routine, William is more an more showing his offensive skills.

William Kvist has won GRANEN - the highest honour a youth player can achieve in KB/F.C. Copenhagen.

In 2004 William was promoted to the first team squad in F.C. Copenhagen and since then he has showed he has the skills to play with the best. In 2006 William was very much involved in the winner against AFC Ajax – a win that secured F.C. Copenhagen’s participation in the UEFA Champions League.

In the summer of 2007 he was asked to play as a right back in the following season, and the loyal allround-player accepted this, but also made it clear that it only was temporarily as he wanted to establish himself in midfield. He made such an impression as a right back that he also was selected for the Danish A-international team, and he has been a regular International since then.

When F.C. Copenhagen signed Czech international Zdenek Pospech in the winter of 2008, William was released of his right back-duties and returned to the midfield, where he also has been a regular starter on the central or right midfield.
