With the transfer back to Copenhagen in August 2010, Martin Bergvold came to FCK for the second time in his career. Bergvold originally started to play football in the two Copenhagen suburb clubs Rødovre FC and Boldklubben Avarta, but in 2001 he switched to KB and thus became part of the FC Copenhagen set up. 

Bergvold made his senior debut for FC Copenhagen in December 2002. Although he is an offensive player he didn’t score for the Lions until March 2004. Goals would begin to flow however, and he bagged nine before he switched to the Italian club AS Livorno Calcio in early 2007.

Bergvold completed his contract with AS Livorno Calcio and played a total of 76 games for the Italians, scoring five goals. 

On 7 August 2010 he returned to FC Copenhagen on a free transfer, and is contracted to be part of the club until summer 2013. 

With the addition of Bergvold FC Copenhagen gains a very good left footed midfielder in the squad, and there is no doubt that the Lions will benefit from the skills and experience he has received from more than three years in Italian football. 

His start to his second spell with FCK was hampered with injuries, but it is expected Bergvold will be back to full fitness for the remainder of spring 2011.
