In early January 2009 F.C. Copenhagen signed a 4½ year long contract with Dame N’Doye fra Senegal.

Dame N’Doye joins F.C. Copenhagen from OFI Crete from the Greek first division – and despite the fact that OFI Crete is only one spot from being last in the League, Dame N’Doye is still in joint second place on the Greek top scorer list, where he has scored 7 of OFI Crete’s 17 goals.

Dame N’Doye played his first game in PARKEN back in November 2007. At that time he was playing for Greek “giants” Panathinaikos FC, and they met F.C. Copenhagen in the group phase of the UEFA Cup. Panathinaikos won the game 1-0, the winner scored in the 16. Minute by Dame N’Doye ...

Dame N’Doye started his carreer in his home country of Senegal, getting his first professional action in ASC Jeanne d'Arc. After three seasons with ASC Jeanne d'Arc, he signed a contract with Al-Saad in Qatar – but he only stayed there half a year before joining Associação Académica de Coimbra in Portugal. In Portugal he showed all his talent, and after a very good season, Panathinaikos decided to bring him to Athens – and by doing that, gave him the chance to go to Copenhagen and score the game winner in the previous mentioned game.

But apart from the success in Copenhagen, he never got to be a big hit in Panathinaikos, so at the time F.C. Copenhagen decided to sign Dame N’Doye, he was playing for OFI Crete.

With the signing of N’Doye, FC Copenhagen acquired a big strong player; a man that can cause problems for all opposing teams. He has proven to be dangerous in front of goal, scoring 29 league goals in 61 appearances. N’Doye is now considered the spearhead of any Copenhagen attack.

He played all but one of FCK’s matches in the autumn half of the 2010/11 season, and has found great success playing in the UEFA Champions League. He crucially scored the winner against Rubin Kazan at PARKEN to kick-start the Lions’ drive to qualify through the group stage of the competition. A strike against his old club in Athens contributed to an historic 2-0 over Panathinaikos in the next game, and he was inches away from a wonder goal in Barcelona’s Nou Camp as his shot rattled off the crossbar.

N’Doye has proven to be more than capable of playing with any other front man. His partnership with fellow forward César Santin has yielded 26 league goals so far this season, while he is equally adapt at playing with either Jesper Grønkjær or Morten Nordstrand. Crucially, N’Doye has also witnessed the progression of Kenneth Zohore, a product of FCK’s youth academy. The youngster has profited greatly from his partnership with the Senegalese striker, and looks an exciting prospect for the future.
