In July 2008 F.C. Copenhagen signed a 5 year contract with Swedish defender Peter Larsson. He was a regular in Halmstad’s defence the previous last three seasons, and has played more than 100 matches for Halmstad, the only club he has represented as a senior.

In January 2008 Peter Larsson got his debut on the Swedish national team in a friendly against Costa Rica. On top of his debut, he got the honour of being all time Swedish national player number 1000 ...

Peter Larsson almost made it to the line-up in the Swedish team participating in EURO 2008, but he was left out of the final Swedish squad. When he signed the contract with F.C. Copenhagen, he had played 2 matches for the national team, as well as 21 matches for the Under-21 national team.

Peter in considered one of the best central defenders in Scandinavia, a fact the players on the other teams in the Danish Superliga have leanrt – and then they will regret that Peter Larsson preferred FC Copenhagen from some of the other European clubs that had hoped to sign him.
 
Unfortunately his start at FCK was not the smoothest; he suffered from injury during most of the autumn of 2008. Now recovered, Larsson provides good competition for the other central defenders at the club.
